About Pwllheli

The unofficial capital of the Llyn Peninsula, Pwllheli is a vibrant market town, with one of the busiest markets in Britain. The town sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and is the perfect base to explore this wonderful area of North West Wales. There are many holiday rentals available in and around the town, so you’re sure to find something to make your stay a memorable one.

Pwlheli’s centre has all the quaintness of an old seaside town, and thankfully the weather within the town is usually fine, adding to the seaside charm. Along with the market, there are many thriving shops and tourist emporiums, selling everything you could need.

There are also two lovely beaches within the town: stretching from Gimblet Rock towards Llanbedrog is the shingle South Beach. The other beach – Glan-y-mor - is to be found behind the marina workshops, and is sandy.

In terms of holiday accommodation and rentals, Pwlheli has an excellent caravan park, and there guesthouses and bed and breakfasts a plenty. There are even occasionally overnight stays to be had in one of the boats in the wonderful marina – one of the best in Wales - in the town. Two sandy beaches, Quarry - a busy sandy beach, and Porth Neigwl - a famous surfing beach, can be reached comfortably from several Pwllheli cabins. The various Pwllheli apartments provide immediate access to the market town centre, lined with numerous shops and cafes.

Your Pwllheli lodging is an ideal base to visit remote tranquil beaches like Porth Ysgo, a marina that hosts many Sailing regattas. Travellers who wish to explore the area can go to Criccieth, an attractive holiday resort, and stay at one of the Criccieth holiday rentals on a short trip.

North Wales attracts a huge number of tourists each year as the region is a wealth of history and culture, adorned by a beautiful landscape dotted with stunning national parks, and quaint holiday destinations, each served with a good number of North Wales holiday rentals for a refreshing short stay.
