Vacation Rentals in Beaumaris

Located in Anglesey, the Welsh town of Beaumaris has long been the island’s main town and principle port. As a reflection of its long history, Beaumaris today is an intensely picturesque town, with a large number of grandiose Georgian buildings and a marvellous waterfront that gazes across to Snowdonia.

Beaumaris has a wonderful buzz, and the streets are quite often flocked during the day with tourists looking to take advantage of the town’s many attractions and nearby hotspots for visitors. Unsurprisingly, Beaumaris boasts a huge range of holiday rentals to choose from, along with some great restaurants, cafes and drinking holes, as well as a number of interesting boutiques and galleries.

In terms of visitor attractions, tourists have traditionally been drawn to Beaumaris because of its wonderful, fairy-tale castle. Built for Edward I by James of St George the castle is now a World Heritage Site, and deservedly so. Boasting four lines of fortifications and a stunning aspect, Beaumaris has the wow factor in buckets, and it would be hard to find a more perfect site to enjoy.

But the castle is not all that Beaumaris has to offer. A visit to the Beaumaris Courthouse and Gaol comes highly recommended: be warned though, this atmospheric site with its 400 year old history may well raise a shudder, and the Victorian jail houses the last-remaining tread wheel in the United Kingdom, on which hard labour prisoners were put to work in years gone by.

Castles and prisoners aside, Beaumaris also has plenty on offer for those who revel in the outdoor life. The town has blossomed as a great place for sport – from walking and cycling to water sports and sailing - and it is also possible to take a boat trip across to the nearby “Puffin Island” for the chance to view these charming sea birds in their natural habitat. Holiday rentals are also not short on the ground in Beaumaris and, whether you’re after a boutique hotel or a self-catering cottage, you’re sure to find an option here to meet your needs. There are numerous cottages in Beaumaris that offer easy reach to the courthouse built in 1614, the 14th century Tudor Rose, fourteenth century St Mary's parish church, and many such notable tourist sites. From your accommodation in Beaumaris you will find the two golf courses within a short distance.

Make one of the Beaumaris apartments as your base and find some of the best restaurants and shops within a walking distance. Menai Bridge is an ideal short stay destination from Beaumaris, served with several luxurious Menai Bridge holiday rentals.

Anglesey is a beautiful region with loads of things to see and do, all within an accessible range of the various Anglesey holiday rentals.
