Vacation Rentals in Barmouth

Sitting on the west coast of north Wales, Barmouth lies in between a mountain range and the sea. The town sits at the mouth of the River Mawddach, in what is arguably one of the most stunning settings in Wales. Barmouth has a lot to offer, with its naturally beautiful location in this corner of the Snowdonia National Park and a deep history.

Barmouth old town is intensely picturesque – with a beautiful harbour and slate-roofed stone cottages that nestle into the mountainside. It’s well worth taking the time to explore the streets here, or to take a stroll across the stunning Barmouth Bridge which crosses the River Mawddach.

Barmouth beach is also well worth a trip. With a wide, sandy shoreline, it’s perfect for building sandcastles or just a spot of lazy sunbathing, and surfers often come here, depending on the water and the season. The town also has a wide range of holiday accommodation and rentals, with hotels, self-catering cottages and guesthouses all available in Barmouth. There are also a couple of camping and caravan parks in the nearby area, so it should be easy to find a holiday rental to suit you here.

The town is also very popular with activity seekers, looking to enjoy all the attractions of the great outdoors. Barmouth is the first point in the Barmouth to Fort William Three Peaks Race, which involves sailing hundreds of miles from Wales to Scotland and then scaling the three highest peaks in Great Britain – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon.

There are also a wide range of walks in Barmouth, whether you want an easy stroll or something more challenging. As well as good walking and stunning surroundings, the area is also haven for wildlife, and many birds can be spotted in and around Barmouth town.
