HIKKADUWA HOLIDAY VILLA RENTAL DESCRIPTION The White House comprises a decidedly contemporary villa inspired by the landscape. The sloping site leading down to the lake has been used to maximum advantage. Opened in 2008, the White House at Birdlake is situated at the end of a quiet unpaved road just 10 minutes away from Hikkaduwa town. The property was designed by architect Rihan Peruma and the simplicity of his design with lofty, light filled interiors, enhanced by contemporary furniture and the bold use of colour creates an environment which is a joy to encounter. High ceilings and natural air flow keep the villas cool sustained by the natural cement floors. Picture windows give uninterrupted views of the lake which can be reached at the foot of the gardens just beyond the private pool. The White House offers a welcome change to the colonial style of beach villas which adorn the coastline. The property sleeps 6 adults and 2 children on pull out mattresses.
