A must for the tourist to this area is the Famine Village, an insight into Ireland long ago, well worth a visit. The Inishowen 100 is a drive which takes the visitor on a roughly circular tour of the Inishowen Peninsula, and gets its name from the distance of 100kms, the approximate distance covered if the whole trip is completed. For the golf enthusiast, the well known Ballyliffin Golf Club and course is a 15 min drive from here. Other golf courses are located at Greencastle, Redcastle and Buncrana. This unique outdoor museum tells the story of life in this area going back to the Great Famine in the 1840's. Sea angling is available at both Portsalon and Rathmullan - on the Lough Swilly side of the Fanad Peninsula. On the Mulroy Bay side of the peninsula is the location of the Meadows Fishery. This is a two acre stream fed lake with good road access and parking space. Fishing is by fly only using barbless or debarbed hooks.
